Gardening Against The Odds Awards - the film

In the beautiful setting of the Great Conservatory at Syon House, the ten winners of a Gardening Against The Odds award received their prizes. Among the guests were gardener and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh who spoke about "Such a range of spirited and heartening stories from people who have gardened against the odds”.
Look out for some famous faces and hear some inspiring stories in the film of the award presentation at Syon.
Winners HDA Southend received their award from the Duchess of Northumberland, one of the judges, at whose invitation the event was held at Syon. Runners up Amlwch Agewell Garden and Gardening Leave were presented with their awards by Susan Hampshire and Frank Wilson, husband of Elspeth Thompson, in whose memory the awards are organised by The Conservation Foundation and The Sunday Telegraph. David Bellamy, presented an Award of Merit to Prescila Bisa for her colourful London street garden and told guests of how he and David Shreeve co-founded The Conservation Foundation 30 years ago in March 1982.
