   02 It's your community 

O2’s  It’s Your Community awards, which are managed and judged by The Conservation Foundation, have grown into a fully fledged national programme, with up to 60 projects from throughout the UK receiving awards every month. The awards are designed to support individuals and groups seeking to make a positive change in their community. 

Tools Shed is The Conservation Foundation’s tools for schools recycling project run in association with HMP Wandsworth.  For more details, click here.

 RHS Wisley and Capital Gardens Neal’s Nurseries accept broken and unwanted tools all year round.

 We’re collecting tools from contractors at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show again this year. It run from 7 - 12 July. 


Parish Pumps logoThe Conservation Foundation’s Parish Pump Programme provides news and information on sustainable living to individuals actively involved in their local communities, both rural and urban, throughout the country. 


The capital’s unsung gardening heroes who make the capital a brighter, greener and healthier place to live and work and also improve the biodiversity are celebrated in The Conservation Foundation’s London’s Green Corners Awards.   News of this year’s awards will be announced soon.

  LONDON FAITHS ENVIRONMENTAL NETWORK is a three year programme to support environmental action for London’s faith groups being managed by The Conservation Foundation with the support of the Corporation of London’s City Bridge Trust.


The latest Young Scientists for Rainforests award has been made for a project documenting plants of medicinal value in a Kenyan tropical rainforest. Click here to find out more.


 The Friends of St James has been developed by the Conservation Foundation in association with local individuals and organisations.    

 


 

 The Conservation Foundation’s Yew Tree Campaign to encourage the protection of Britain’s ancient yews - trees which are over 1,000 years old - began in 1987.

Founded in 1982 by David Shreeve and David Bellamy to provide a means for people in public, private and not-for-profit sectors to collaborate on environmental causes.

Since 1982 The Foundation has created and managed a wide range of environmental initiatives, often with the support of commercial partners. Over the years its programme has included award schemes, conferences, promotions, special events, field studies, school programmes, media work, seminars and workshops etc.

The Foundation, one of the first organisations to link business and the environment, celebrated its silver anniversary in 2007.
