Awards
Young Scientists for Rainforests
For ethno-medical and ethno-botanical research in rainforests anywhere in the world. Grants of about £1,000 are available. Some are in conjunction with BSES (British Schools’ Exploration Society).
These funds have enabled ethno-medical and ethno-botanical studies and research to be carried out throughout the world in rainforests in Madagascar, New Zealand, Peru, China, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Indonesia and Malaysia etc. It has also funded the publication of three bulletins for the Botanical Gardens Conservation Secretariat and enabled films to be made in India and Vanuatu.
There are no entry forms and applications can be made at any time. However this award scheme is always over-subscribed.
